Dr. Lynda G. Washington – aka L.A.W! to those that know her best.
- She is the mother of 1 son and 4 grandchildren.
- She is twice divorced totaling 35 years of marriage.
- A true hard working entrepreneur in her own rights.
- Retired from the Board Of Education approximately 30 years in West Harvey-Dixmoor School District 147 June 2017.
- Administrative Assistant to multiple organizations inclusive of her mothers’ ministry the Late Pastor E. R. Allen, Founder of Christ Bible Center, Chicago IL. 17 years inclusive of Sunday School Superintendent, Choir President which she produced their album, God Squad Street ministry and Church Administrator to name a few.
- Assisting ministries and working with the youth is one of her many accomplishments in her lifetime.
- Co-Founder of The KEL-LAW Foundation, Inc. Non for Profit for over 25 years.
- She has been instrumental in hosting hundreds of events, plays, programs etc.
- She is a play writer, she has implemented feeding programs in Roseland, member of multiple organizations such as Soroptomist, Democratic Women Of the South Suburbs, and Girl Scout Troop Leader to name a few.
Lynda Is a Community Activist. She is a licensed ordained minister and motivational speaker. She is currently a Commissioner for the Human Relations Commission for Sauk Village, IL. She served as an Elected Official as Trustee for 4 years in Sauk Village and ran for Mayor April 2017. She recently received her Honorary Doctorate Degree in Divinity October 28, 2017, she founded The Dr. Lynda G. Washington Foundation, Inc. Non for Profit with a 501c3, branching off from The KEL-LAW Foundation after 25 years of youth programs, with assisting women of domestic violence with emphasis on teen pregnancy. She hosted and was the Community Affairs Director for the City of Harvey for 8 years. The list is endless check her web page for more information. Tonight we are here to celebrate the 2nd of a triple celebration she is achieving. The 3rd will be when she release her book entitled: “He’ll Turn Your Tears To Diamonds” in February 2018! She was the Chair of Sauk Village Neighborhood Watch Program and Co- Chair of Sauk Village Parks & Recreation. She is also on the Lake Michigan Water Committee.
